Rosie's Mystery Quest book cover

Do you remember the feeling of opening a brand-new colouring book as a child? The crisp white pages, the promise of colour, and the hush of adventure waiting for your crayons? That’s exactly the magic we wanted to capture when we created our very first children’s colouring storybook: Rosie’s Mystery Quest. And now — eek! — it’s out in the world.

What Makes This Book Different?

Rosie’s Mystery Quest isn’t just a colouring book. It’s part story, part treasure hunt, and part creative playground. Here’s what you’ll find inside:

  • A rhyming story that follows Rosie the parrot and her animal friends as they discover mysterious treasures one by one.

  • 45 single-sided colouring pages. By inserting a spare sheet of paper between pages, we can ensure that markers, crayons, and pencils won’t bleed through to the next masterpiece.

  • Whimsical animal illustrations to bring to life with colour — parrots, dolphins, monkeys, and more.

  • An unfolding mystery — kids will love the discoveries as they turn each page.

And (my favourite part) — when you buy the book, you also get access to exclusive downloadable printables. These let you (or your child) cut out the characters and create their own play scenes.

Why We Created This Book

As a mum, grandparent, teacher, or simply someone who loves to nurture little imaginations, you know the value of quiet, creative play. I wanted to make something that encourages:

  • Storytelling and reading confidence (early readers adore the gentle rhymes).

  • Fine motor skills (colouring, cutting, arranging).

  • Collaboration and sharing (Rosie’s story is all about teamwork!).

Because colouring isn’t only about filling in lines — it’s about connection, calm, and creativity.

The Importance of Creative Play

Creative play is essential for young minds. It fosters imagination and allows children to express themselves freely. When kids engage in activities like colouring, they develop critical thinking skills and enhance their emotional well-being.

Building Bonds Through Colouring

Colouring together can also strengthen bonds between children and their caregivers. It’s a wonderful way to spend quality time, share stories, and create lasting memories. Imagine sitting side by side, crayons in hand, as you both dive into Rosie’s world.

Encouraging Exploration

With Rosie’s Mystery Quest, children are encouraged to explore their creativity. Each page invites them to add their unique touch, transforming the illustrations into their own masterpieces. This exploration is not just fun; it’s a vital part of their development.

From Our Heart to Yours

This is our very first book under the Read and Colour Animal Adventures series, and we can’t wait to share more with you. Rosie and her friends are just the beginning — there are rainbows, deserts, Aussie outback, and even a zoo waiting in the wings!

But for now, we’d love for you to meet Rosie. Colour her feathers, follow her clues, and enjoy a quest full of mystery and joy. Now it’s your turn — who would your child love colouring first: the funny frog, the dreamy dolphin, or Rosie herself? Pop your answer in the comments below — we’d love to know!
